- Rudy and RailPax's Ircle3.0.3 Configuration Page -
Welcome to an Ircle help and configuration page brought to you by Rudy and RailPax.
The following will attempt to explain the basics of connecting to an irc network with
Ircle and how to use it as well as some extra things you may want to know.
Zuh.Net is the IRC network we both love and work hard for. It's a great place to chat
with a friendly environment and helpful people willing to assist you in anything you
may need. Enjoy, and if you have any questions they can be directed to us via IRC on
irc.zuh.net, or send an email to skapent@mindspring.com or owensrwy@aol.com explaining the question. :)
These next sections explain how to get Ircle, set it up, and connect to an IRC network with it...
1. Download Ircle from http://www.ircle.com - you will want to browse through that site as well
2. Unstuff the Ircle3.0.3.sit.hqx file and be sure to read Ircle's ReadMe file/F.A.Q. before you do anything!
3. Once unstuffed and you have read the ReadMe file and chosen where to keep the Ircle folder, double-click on the "ircle3.0.3" file to open it up.
Note: Ircle is ShareWare (software that allows you to try out for a specified period of time, then you must pay a fee), so be sure to send the proper payment to the address given via the client within the alloted time.
4. To your right and towards the bottom there is a window marked "Connections" which look a little something like this:

- Connect: This is the button to connect to the network selected
- Edit: This is where the main settings are for each connection
- Nick: This is a shortcut to change your nick during a session
- Disconn: This disconnects you from the selected network
- Server: This brings up the Server Window with a listing of many IRC networks
5. Click on the "Edit" button first - that's where the main settings are. In there you will see the first window that looks like this:

- Identity -
- Nickname:(necessary) Put your nickname here, eg: JoeUser
- Username:(necessary) The Username can be any character from A-Z, eg: Joe
- Password: Don't worry about this field unless you use NickServ (there is no NickServ present on ZUH.Net)
- Real name: Anything you want can go here, although anonymity is probably the best way to go for now
- Auto connect to server: This makes you connect to the corresponding server as soon as you launch Ircle
- Invisible: It's a good idea to keep this checked, basically if someone does a /whois in a channel you're in, they won't see you
- Receive Wallops: Wallops is an IRC Operator thing, some networks allow users to see them, others don't
- Receive server messages: Another IRC Operator priveledge, same goes as Wallops with this one
6. Fill out the fields marked necessary in your Identity tab - Autoexec is the next tab, although you should learn a little more about Ircle before using the fields within.
7. For now, don't worry about the Misc./CTCP tab, those can come later.. right now we first want to connect to an IRC network such as ZUH.Net.
8. Now that our "Edit" preferences are set, we can move onto the "Server" button.. when pushed, a dialog like the one below will pop up.

- Server list -
- Select and Cancel are pretty self explanitory
- Add: This pops up a dialog like the one below allowing you to enter your own server and server settings.. for now we will enter ZUH.Net's Server information.

- here is a current listing of Zuh.Net servers you may use:
- Meadville.PA.US.ZUH.Net
- Portland.OR.US.Zuh.Net
- Buffalo.NY.US.ZUH.Net
- UTwente.NL.EU.ZUH.Net
- Hilversum.NL.EU.ZUH.Net
- Randolph.MA.US.ZUH.Net
- Maui.HI.US.ZUH.Net
- WNY.US.ZUH.Net
- Madison.WI.US.ZUH.Net
9. Once that is done, just press "OK", select your new server in the list of servers, and press "Select", and Ircle will automatically connect to IRC.ZUH.Net. From there, you can type /join #Zuh or /join #help for more help and information.
This has been brought to you by the fine people of ZUH.Net to make your irc experience a little more friendly and informative
